While waiting for our taxi to bring us back to the airport.

Holiday...!!!

Off we go to the airport this morning. Our flight is at 9.30am. So we have to leave home at about 7.30am.

The check-in process and the flight to Brisbane, Australia was great. Most importantly, Sasya and Caden were good in the plane.

We are going to stay at Hyatt in downtown Brisbane for a night and will have to catch the next flight to Hamilton Island...and then another flight to Hayman Island.

Plenty of rest tonight and so much fun tomorrow. ^_^

H.O.T Sentosa

Suddenly, Caden told me that he wanted to go to the beach. So we went to Sentosa today, though Vivo City.

We took the monorail and play at the beach side for quite a while.

It was a super hot day, but I think Caden enjoyed it very much.

I spent more of my time under the shade, while daddy accompanied Caden to play.

Quite a number of my friends told me that I am so much darker compare to a few months ago. *oh no…*

Play Nursery Term 3

Today is the end of Term 3. We will be having a one week break next week.

As usual, today is a dress-up party day.

Even though Caden had been accepted at Nayang Kindergarten since middle of this year, I decided to postpone it until next year, when he will be in N2.

Putting money aside, I think it’s better for Caden to be in this Play Nursery class until end of the year before he will go into a totally different kind of school next year. I want him to settle down a little bit more and be confident in the current school, before he moves to a new one.

I can really see that Caden felt more confidence in the current school. I am glad for that. I just hope the transition next year will not be so bad.

At 17kg

Caden is considered big physically for his age. He is currently still in the last stage of the parent-and-child class at The Little Gym.

Teacher Pearl, who wasn’t able to lift Caden up anymore, had advice me to move Caden up to his first gym independent class next term.

She said Caden is independent enough and his body size suits better in the next age group class.

So this would be Caden last day with me in the gym class.

I hope he will be able to follow the teacher’s instructions and do better without me around. [Sometimes I feel he is acting up when I am around].

Mandarin Early Readers Term 3

Today was the last day of term 3. The parents were invited to the class to see the children’s progress.

I really like Julia Gabriel’s approach to introduce the children, in this case, mandarin words/sentence. Both teachers in Caden’s class are also very good and very experience in teaching Mandarin to young children.

Until now I am not so sure if Caden really can read Chinese or he is just simply memorizing it. Whatever it is, I think exposure in Chinese language from young is very important if I want him to be able to speak and write in Mandarin.

We don’t do this too often, but every time we do this, Caden is always excited.

Today, he was more than excited. He started with just looking at me drawing houses, boat, flower, rain (he likes drawing rain and thunder), etc on the paper, but soon, he painted some on the paper and…on HIMSELF!

I let him painted both of his feet for a while, but brought him straight to the bathroom when he started walking around the house; he would make the house filled with ‘interesting’ colorful color in no time.

First Professional Hair Cut for Sasya

Oma cut Sasya’s hair yesterday and because she was moving around too much, the sides of were a little bit slanted. And, Oma was too scared to use a razor.

Because Sasya is going to have a birthday party soon, I decided to bring her to a hair salon that Caden always visits every month.

All of us picked Caden up from school and straight we went to the Kiddie Cuts at Forum (inside the Toys R Us).

Sasya was a little grouchy at first. I tried to carry her and try to make her sit by herself, too, but none works. At one point, Sasya was pointing her finger to Caden, so I thought let’s try it with Sasya sitting down next to Caden…

Anddd…it works!!! She did actually sit through the session quietly with Caden by her side.

Thanks koko Caden for all your help!

We should do this more often ya…. ^_^

Zoo: Raining :-(

We went to the Zoo this morning just to catch his favorite show, the ‘Rainforest Fights Back.' But it was raining when we get there and soon it turned to drizzle.

I’ve bought Caden his first raincoat and he was excitedly wore it.

We waited at the entrance and asked the ticket booth if the show will be canceled. And they said, it should still be on.

Lots of people had sit down and waited for the show to start, when an announcement was heard that the show had been cancelled.

I heard a lot of disappointment from the audience, especially when there was not even a drizzle anymore.

Maybe because it was weekends and a lot of people were there, the Zoo decided to make all the casts and some animal came out and greet the audience.

Caden had a blast seeing the cast members of the ‘Rainforest Fights Back’ show. He even touched the snake today. ^_^

Dress-Up Party

The kids were told to dress-up like their favorite book character. I was so happy that I’ve bought this Bob The Builder costume from the US.

Caden was very excited to wear this costume that he talked about it again and again last night and this morning.

I am amazed on how big Caden is. I bought this costume for the age 4-6 years old, but it looks like it’s not going to fit him by the end of the year. Hiks....

Story Telling: "Jesus Died on The Cross"

Caden: "....bad guys..."

Suster: "Yes with the bad guys, with the soldiers..."... Read More

Caden: "This is the bad guys, this is the bad guys. Bad guys died on the cross with Jesus"

Suster: "Ooo...."

Caden: "It is, suster..."

Suster: "And then how does the story goes?"

Caden: "And then died on the cross, and then do you see, those are the bad guys ??" Bad guys, go up to the Cross and died on the Cross. And then Jesus go up and died on the cross, too. And then one more go up and died on the CROSS!!!

Suster: “And then?” [while flipping to the next page]

Caden: “And then the rock is closed [flipping the next page]. And then Angel said, Jesus is not here, Jesus is alive. And then, it’s so bright…..ahhh…ahh….ah…..[closing eyes and scream] I cannot see!!!! Angel is too bright!!!”

Suster: “Ooo….”

Caden: “And then the rock opened, and then Jesus gone, and then already died on the cross. And then Jesus is gone…”

This is the part where it gets so funny:

Caden: “And then Angel said, go and tell others that Jesus died on the cross. And then Jesus came back (i.e alive)".

[Supposed to be, “go and tell others that Jesus has alive”] hehe....

The Boy Who Cried Wolf

We went out to watch this show, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.” I should say it was a very good show. It was really catchy and engaging that Caden, who was not even 3 years old yet, able to sit down throughout the entire show.

The one thing that I notice the most is that, if I’ve bought a story book similar to the story line of a show, Caden would be more interested and more curious about what was going to happen next. I can really see it in his eyes.

We all love the show. Very good story lines and very good props, too.

Eyes Check Up

Two people, my mom and an uncle who had just passed away, had told me that Caden eyes may not be in the right position, i.e he probably has a lazy eye syndrome.

I thought I checked him up, just to make sure that everything is alright.

We did this check up when he was 13 months old in the Kinder Clinic, but today, we went straight to their office at Shaw Centre called Pediaoptix.

They have what they called to be a “gun.” The optometrist pointed and ‘shoot’ the gun to Caden’s eyes and a reading was right away transfered to a computer. With that, she was able to get nearly accurate reading on his eyes.

Thankfully, everything was alright. His eyes were perfect as for now.

Caden still has a little bit short-sightedness, but it is normal for someone as young as him has a little bit of it. The short-sightedness will gradually go away when he is older.

I really hope that his eyes will stay perfect (read: he doesn’t have to wear any glasses) until at least he is in Primary 5, where he is able to take care of himself better.

I have to pray hard for it.

Sing "1,2,3 Jesus Loves Me"

One, two, three, JESUS loves me
Four, five, HE gave me life
Six, seven, my home is Heaven
Eight, nine, bright as sunshine
The last number I learn is ten
For HIS promise I say AMEN!!

at Orchard Road

A lot of bands are performing along the Orchard area this week, in conjuction for the National Day.

Caden loves to listen to them for a long time before mommy has to pull him home.
