End of this year Term

I am so proud on how much Caden has improved from the past 2 terms.

Being the youngest one has an advantage. Caden likes to see how the other 3 kids do their fore-hand and back-hand (which Caden currently is still trying to hit the ball by himself) and other important skill that is being taught.

Maybe next term, he will be able to hit the ball by himself. I can hardly wait to see that moment.

I really hope when Caden is older, there is at least one sport that he enjoys doing among all the school work and other things that he has to do.

And Oma certainly hope that Caden would love Tennis as how she loves it.

Church outing at Sentosa

Bobo (sleep) with mommy, please...

Mommy: “Caden, remember that mommy is going trilling trilling* tonight. Tonight you sleep with suster, ok?”

Caden: “No…no trilling trilling…bobo mommy (sleep with mommy)”

Mommy: “I have been telling you since yesterday that mommy is going trilling trilling tonight. You be a good boy ok? No cari mommy (no looking for mommy) and no crying ya?”

Caden: “No…mommy no trilling trilling!! Suster trilling trilling, caden bobo mami (Caden sleep with mommy)”

Mommy: *laughing and speechless…*

*Word for ballet as we usually said it with acting – hands up in the air and we tip toe with spinning action, too.

so colddd...

Rainy season is here and it’s getting really cold here in Singapore. Strong winds makes the temperature even lower.

We seldom swim nowadays. When I saw that there was a little bit of sun, I decided to bring Caden to swim.

Wrong move!!!

The sun was covered by the clouds soon after we go down. The water was freezing and the wind was blowing so strongggg.

Caden told me to go inside the pool. I tried but it was just too cold. There was a little boy tried to swim but changed his mind in the end.

Amazingly, this little boy of mine seems ok with it. He acted like the water in at normal temperature (I called now is a little out of ordinary).

Though he still looked fine, I decided to bring him up after only 15 minutes of swimming. The wind blew stronger and it was getting a little cloudier. I am afraid he might catch a cold later on.

I hate this part of the year where it goes raining and cloudy and windy everyday.

Friends of Singapore Flyer

I am really not a fan of the Singapore Flyer. First of all is expensive $29.50/person and you basically only going to sit down for the whole 30 minutes ride (not to mention the eerie feeling to be so close to the sky).

But Caden loves it. He asked to be inside the flyer a lot of times.

I brought him again today at 9am, they just opened. I signed up for the Friends of Singapore Flyer for $135/year. Thought about signing up on our first visit but I wasn't sure if we are going to come that often.
.
My goodness!! The membership has so many restrictions on it (so different from the Friends of the Zoo) and it took really longgggg time to get the paper work done.

So Caden and Suster were enjoying themselves at the small park area below the flyer.

We had our own private capsule today. And as usual, Caden enjoyed his 30minutes ride while mommy was a bit scared to be so high up in it.

PS: All pictures are courtesy of Suster! ^_^

The longest cry ever...

Caden cried for more than one hour this evening. I was at ballet (yes…I am starting to do ballet again after 5 years of absence).

I knew that he was crying so loud looking for me before the class start as I always checked on him a lot of times to make sure that everything is alright. But I didn’t know it was going to last that long.

He became even MORE attached to me this past 2 weeks. It get worst toward evenings. Now, even when he is playing with daddy, he will look for me every 5 minutes or so, just to make sure that I am nearby and within his reach.

I knew something was not right after I saw 3 miss-calls from home and an SMS from the nanny after my class telling me to go home if possible. I called home right away and turned out Caden only stopped crying a while ago and went to sleep in 15 minutes (usually it takes at least 1 hour and can up to 2 hours sometimes) as he was so exhausted.

I felt guilty but thought that I still have to leave him once in a while. Caden has to know that mommy would not be with him every second of the way. Soon he will have to be in a drop off school and he won’t survive if I don’t let go off him a little.

I NEVER lied to him or sneak out from him if I need to go somewhere. I always tell him the truth and promise him a lot of times that mommy will be back very soon.

I believe that I am doing the right thing by leaving him at home for twice a week and promise him to put him to sleep for the rest of the week.

I arrived at home at 8.30pm. Took a shower and sneaked into his room. Wake him up a little, and told him that mommy is back. When I saw him a little awake, I asked him why was the crying all for? And he answered sleepily, “looking mommy…looking mommy…”

I told him that I did what I had promised, to go home soon. And he kept quiet and went back to sleep. I could still hear his shrugged from the past crying. His crying must be so bad that I can still hear him shrugging after about 2 hours since it ended.

Poor baby… I will have to think a better way of securing his mind that mommy will never leave him, and will always be at home very soon. *think think think!*

Art Boot Camp

We tried out a free trial from Art Boot Camp. It turned out to be quite interesting.

I signed Caden up for the next two classes (i.e. next two weeks) just so his holiday will be filled up with some activities.

Pretty Orchard Road

You can feel the Christmas feeling as you enter Orchard Road. Everywhere has been decorated with Christmas ornaments. The government really put a lot of effort to make Orchard Road always look pretty and ready for Christmas.

Caden loves to see the candies that are hanging on the trees’ branches, the bows on every trees’ body, the lights that are everywhere…

At every major mall, there are also huge Christmas trees with elegant and grand ornaments to make it look even prettier.

Christmas is always a happy occasion for all of us, especially when we remember that God Himself has been born to us.

First Experience: Bowling

Aunt Jenann invited us to go bowling this late afternoon.

It was a fun first time experience to push that super heavy ball. Caden tried to push it himself at first but in the end, the ball got stuck in the middle of the lane as there is no enough strength to push the ball forward.

So mommy came to help Caden to push harder.

Mommies have a nice chat and children seemed to enjoy each other company.

Just Suster and I

I always try to make time to go swimming with Caden. I love to go swimming with him. He always looks very happy when he is in the water.

But there are rare occasions that I couldn’t accompany Caden to swim. When he was younger, I will not let Suster to bring Caden to swim by herself as she will not be able to swim to Caden in case something happen.

Now that Caden is more advance in swimming and much older, I let Caden swim by himself with his special swimming suits that has a build in float.

With this, if Caden lost his grips by the side of the pool, he can swim to rescue himself easier. [He can do without it sometimes but it takes a lot more kicks and a lot more time]
.
See how happy he is?

The Little Gym again...

I decided to put Caden in to the Mini Term (for the month of December) at The Little Gym. We love this place, but Caden looked bored after being in it for 1 year (the pattern goes almost the same at every class).
.
After two terms absent, I am sure Caden will find the gym class interesting again.

And…it turned out that I am right!

Caden was enjoying his 45 minutes session. He now willing to follow the instructions and trying out the skills that the teacher introduces to us for that day.

Look at him at one of his 1st lessons at 4 months old back in 2007. How time fliess…I can’t believe that he has gotten so big now!!

At Changi Airport

It’s so fun to go to Changi Airport this Christmas. Mickey and Friends’ posters are everywhere and Caden loves it!

In the Lounge

Caden loves a specific noodle (and I love it, too) that I bought near Ii Ani’s house. He ate quite a lot considering that he never wants to eat any kind of noodles before.

We bought 12 of them to Singapore and Caden asked to eat it while we were in the lounge. So there were Daddy and Caden eating noodles together before we take off.

@ Lollipop's (again)

Sasya was not on the mood of going out yesterday and since I had promise him that he can play in his favorite indoor playground in Jakarta (well, this is the only one that we know actually), we are back to Senayan City again --- without Sasya.

Inside the playground, Caden patiently wait to hop onto his green car. Once he is in it, he stay there for a some time.

We played for about 1 hour then do some grocery shopping then we went home.

Senayan City

Yey… Ii Ani was not working today so she can come and join us for the fun.

We ate our lunch at Sushi Tei, not bad!

Caden finished his third bowl of Chawanmushi in a split second.

At one point, baby Sasya cried so loud. It was the loudest high-pitched cry I ever heard. And because of it, we have to cut short our trip there.

My weirdies encounter at a mall --- I was taking some pictures at the 3rd level (1st picture). While I was trying to make Caden look at the camera and Suster was trying to get a good shoot of us, there was this security guard approached us and told us to stop taking pictures as there was no photography allowed in the mall.

And I was like, HUH??? (2nd picture) and laughed. It was a really weird encounter. I never heard that we are not allowed to take pictures at a mall before.

While we were waiting for the driver to come and pick us up, we took a picture of the 4 of us. Thank God Sasya was sleeping soundly in the end.

Shopping at Carefour

Off we went to Carefour to buy some supplies for us in Jakarta and for our home in Singapore.

[Though we are staying in Singapore, we still use some Indonesian ingredients for our home cook meal]

I like to do grocery shopping in Jakarta because they have this car trolley for shopping. Kids love it! Caden loves it!

The car is the regular Little Tikes car but they closed up the part where kids can push the car forward or backwards with their legs. So the pushing is all handled by the adults.

Christmas ornaments are everywhere (even in Singapore). Can’t believe that it’s almost Christmas again!!

PS: Ii Ani was working, so it was only the three of us (mommy, baby girl, a big boy), and 2 nannies. ^_^

Meeting Sasya...

We made a sudden plan to go to Jakarta today so see Ii Ani and baby Sasya for 5 days.

The plane ride was smooth (although all of us had to wake up really early as we were taking the first flight to Jakarta – at 7.45am).
.
But the car ride from Jakarta's Airport to Ii Ani’s house took almost 2 hours (half an hour with no traffic).

Grrrr……I hate Jakarta for the traffic!!!

Fortunately, we met Sasya right away after we arrived. Fell in love with her again. She is getting so much bigger since the last time we saw her in October.
.
Caden was trying to be a good big brother right away by showing Sasya which one is dump truck, cement mixer, and digger from his favorite book.

How we wish that we can meet up more often. Caden loves Sasya (in fact all babies) so much…makes me wonder if this is the right time to give him a real brother/sister.
