is it fat or muscle? hihi....
I weighed him again today (just for fun) and shocked to see that Caden gain 0.5kg in one week! He is now 11.8 kg using adult scale at home. He was 11.3kg last week at the doctor office. He only drink mostly formula milk for this week.
I think baby formula are extremly fatty!
hehe...
.
PS: Ii Valerie did this to Caden and he seemed okay with it!
.......Mommy took the pictures of course! ^_^

Oooh yeah, after meal times, the floor would be covered up by his food and with things that supposed to make him occupied while we feed him - such as spoons, bowl, glass, bottles, etc - basically everything that we can find around the kitchen area.
He has not been eating much this few days. Most of the food that we had made for him are almost all thrown away by the end of the day. I told suster that now we should cook much lesser (at least for the time being). Looking at that so much food thrown away breaks my heart.
I am not to worried about him not getting enough food, though, because Caden milk intake has increase vigorously. He could drink up to 450ml of milk right before his bed time at night, would drink another 240ml at around 4am and about 240ml each in the mornings and afternoon.
Yes, I have to stock up on the formulas a lot! 1800 gram of formula will only last for less 2 weeks.
and yes, we would have to change his diaper in the middle of the night again (just like when he was 10 months old and younger) because it would be filled with lots of pee from those milk intake. And if we forget to do so, it would leak so bad and we have to change all his clothes, too. *sigh* ==> I hate this one!!!
Since about 12 months old, Caden also NEVER like to eat snacks anymore. He used to like Gerber Finger Food only, but now he would not want to eat any kind of snacks (I have tried ALL different kinds).
With his chubbiness and big huge tummy, people were surprised when they knew that Caden doesn't like eat snacks and eat his meals.
I wonder too!! I assumed he would loose some weight soon but now, I am not too sure about that anymore. Instead, I felt he is getting heavier when I carry him on my hands!

Bird Park
As Caden is so facinated with birds, I thought bringing him to Jurong Bird Park would be a good idea.I have brought him here, when he was only 6 months old. I did not enjoy it at all. Caden barely understand what's going on and because of that, I was not so exited, too. I tried to show Caden the birds in close proximity but he was giving me the blank look! hehe...
But today was different!! We had so much fun together! His eyes were hooked to the birds and when we were walking from one place to another, he was signing birds all the time as if he was telling the birds to come near him.
I am sure we would have another fun day as this again!

bird..where are you???
It started a few days ago when Caden insisted not to sleep twice a day as he used to. His daddy always emphasis that Caden has to sleep A LOT! so that he will grow (upwards) A LOT, too! But well, I was ready for it if sleeping once a day would be enough for him.
But it was not! He would be so cranky afterwards that he could sleep at wierd hours; at 5pm and woke up at 7pm (He used to sleep at 7.30pm until the next morning).
Seems like twice a day would be too much but once a day would be not enough...
So, I have to find a way to make him more tired so that he would sleep longer (for 3 hours) and only once a day -- that equals to messing up his regular schedule to a new one.
Nowadays, I would have to be creative to find activities for this active boy so that he would be tired and hungrier afterwards (yes, meal times has been WORST since we arrived here from Jakarta).
One of them is: bringing him to Orchard Road, to walk on the streets to find birds and feed them, too. (We fed them Bread Talk by the way! hehe...)
But on the second day we went, it was at 7.30pm, all the birds went home already!! I was glad that Caden still had fun running here and there for a while. My plan might be working cos' he was yawning afterwards.
I had to bring him to interesting place such as Orchard will lots of things going on or else, he would not want to walk by himself (he would want me to carry him instead).
So I am thinking his new schedule would be:
- Woke up at 8am
- School at 9am
- Lunch at 11am
- Nap at 12pm
- Woke up at 3pm
- Dinner at 5pm
- Sleep again at 7.30pm -- until the next morning
*This equals for him to sleep at about 14 hours per day.
Hope this will work!
wrong timing
My fault! I wanted to take pictures of Caden while he was praying, but forgot that he is only 15 months old! haha.....
Since he is into repeating of what we do, I have to remind myself that I have to close my eyes, too the next time that we pray to give him a good example of what should we do while praying!

MMR Jab
We were scheduled to have his jab done this morning at 9.30am. Since Caden woke up early, I decided to come early and play at the indoor playground at Paragon. We came at 8.40am and it was empty! They just turned on the AC. Caden was happy! He had the whole playground all by himself. We then went to meet the doctor. As usual, he cried but this time he didn't cry right after he met the doctor; only after the doctor touch him, then he cried. hehehe....
Tried to have a picture with the doctor but never successful. He cried so loud.
Then he had his jab....and he cried even moree! ^_^
We seldom go to doctor. He seldom sick and if even he caught a bit of runny nose or cough, I would try to just keep him at home, put him to rest more often and give him vitamins.
So most of the time we came to the doctor is to do something painful such as immunization!
I guess, Caden would not be friends with his doctor ever!

at 15 and 1/2 months
He is growing so fast...was 2.9kg at birth and now 11.3kg
was 46cm and now 80cm
wow...how time flies...
He has his own set of mind of doing [or wanting] something and most of the time, it has to be HIS WAY! or else, he would complain by wailing and/or crying and/or shout...
I am trying to tell him slowly that it could not be his way all the time. There are times you have to share and there are times you have to listen to others in why he could not get what he wants. The last thing in my mind is him growing to be like a spoilt-brat who always gets his way all the time. But sometimes you just can't let him cry all the time just because he wants to play a little longer at his nap time or he insisted to use shoes inside the house.
Sometimes I feel like I said too much of NO to him and I don't want him to feel that he can not do things that he wants [I want him to grow to be a person who believes in himself, too]. But sometimes he is asking something that is not right and I would have to say NO again and again within that short period of time.
And when that happens, my mind would think hard if I need let go a little bit of my rule. Well, errggghhh.... Should I???
.
Then after I let him do what he wants (even though I still feel it is not the right thing to do), I would wonder if this small reaction from me will give him the wrong message and make him to become the-not-so-good-Caden in the future.
*sigh*
Sometimes I do really feel that it is so hard to be a mom, especially when daddy is not around most of the time. I feel like all Caden's future -- how he is going to turn out to be, lies heavily on my shoulders!
I always pray that GOD would give me more and more wisdom each day for the lots and lots of decisions that I have to make each day.
PS: From 14 months to now, his teeth are growing very rapidly. He now has a total of 11 teeth.

Shark Fin Soup...hmm..yummy....
Caden tried this delicacy for the first time.and he loves it! [Look at how wide his mouth is...]
Ahh...this is very expensive food, Caden! Your second time will be next year! ^_^
oh by the way, I heard shark fin is not good for your digestion. The texture of it is making it hard for our digestion system to break it down. So with that in mind, I gave him the soup only and leave the shark fin all for mommy. hehe...

Singapore Changi Airport - Terminal 3
Welcome to Singapore....Wahhhh...we arrived in Singapore this year at Terminal 3!!! It was huge but looked empty and not as crowded as the Terminal 2.
So back to Singapore...back to our routines again. Will have to sign up for Caden's classes soon. Hopefully there are still space for Caden.

Extra Extra Careful
One of them is,
One day, we were playing at popo's house, Caden was suddenly said urgh urgh sound a few times and I asked him "What's wrong?" [of course he couldn't answered me!!]
He then put his right hand fingers into the mouth, and his fingers went deep into the mouth. It looked like something inside annoyed him
I was so shocked when gave me a stapler out from his mouth! [Until now, I am not sure where he got it from!]
He likes new things. He will explore, touch and give more attentions to those new stuffs around him. Despite of us saying no no no for tasting everything (other than food) into his mouth, almost all the time, he would bring them into his mouth to taste them.
*sigh*
A friend told me to teach him by slapping him (not so hard of course) near his mouth so that he won’t do that again. Well, I am not too sure about it yet! I am still thinking about is physical punishment are good for kids as young as Caden or it will rather make a bad mark in his mind forever.
But there are times, when he is so naughty and my words are seems meaningless to him, I do feel like I should spank him once in a while so that he will know that there are things that he shouldn’t do.
But until I am VERY sure about this, I will not do it just yet.

with koko Justin
Meeting koko Justin again but this time they could play together just like brothers. Last year when koko Justin visited us from New Zealand, Caden was only 3 months old and only able to eat, sleep and cry. ^_^This time, they both enjoyed each other company! Both of them are the only child in the family so Caden loves to have a big brother to play with and Justin loves to have a younger brother to look after.
We watched Tom and Jerry show again today. Caden actually afraid of the Tom and Jerry but he was holding to koko Justin for assurance and wasn't crying when I left him there. They bonded pretty fast! ^_^
But too bad we wasn't able to make him to look at the camera as he was busy looking at Jerry to make sure that Jerry would stay put at wherever he was and not to come an inch closer! hehe...

Jogya - Day 3 - very Interesting day...
Staying at this kind of resort where they make us feel like leaving in a village/country-side has a good side (well, only for those of you who likes animals). We could see up close and personal with grasshopper, cockroach, frog, ants, birds, butterflies, flies, lizards, etc in our own backyard. We could even hear their sounds at night. Oma said this feels like a Zoo!!! ^_^

Caden had a very interesting day today. Opa caught him a grasshopper and a frog and put them in a glass for a few hours and Caden could see them more clearly at a shorter distance.
Here is where Ii Valerie was trying to give Caden a massage after a very hot humid day! (but failed!!).
And Caden was so obsessed with the umbrellas! He would play with it everyday and would asked us to use it while carrying him at the same time (urgghh...he is heavy!), even when it's not raining.
This was another interesting encountered to stay here! We got to ride an elephant (a big one, virgin female, 30 years of age) and got to see the view of the Candi Borobudur (Borobudur Temple) from afar.
What a beautiful view indeed...
By the way, riding an elephant is quite a scary experience. It moves so much that we felt that we could fall anytime, and they eat A LOT! They have to go in twos or they won't move and they also have to eat as they go along or else they will stop moving.
They moved very slow, especially since they have to eat every 10 steps or so. It took us almost half an hour to get to a place that can be reached by a car in 5 minutes. And it was SOOO HOTT!!!
Poor Caden...
