Today was G.R.E.A.T!!!

We went out together since 8.30am today. We went to Ion Orchard. Played at the huge Christmas tree that Caden has been talking about for a long time that he want to visit “the Christmas tree that I can go inside and hide”.

So here we were…played outside near the Christmas tree area for a while then went to The Coffee Bean there. I like this particular Coffee Bean, not that crowded and service was great. They have napkins outside (so we don’t have to keep asking if we need more of it) and it was cozy.

We then went to borders, read some book then go back home for nap.

Caden was great throughout the entire day today. His fever came back. I checked his temperature after he woke up from nap and it was 39 degree. I gave him his fever medication and he was ok after that.

Dr. Siva told me that the fever will get worst before it gets better. I hope he will be ok tomorrow.

But overall, today, the first day without nanny goes really well. Caden listened to me and was not so active. Hehe…I guess he was not feeling very well, that’s why.

To the Doctor

We went to the doctor today after dropping suster at the airport.

Doctor said Caden has a mild viral infection. His fever will be gone in 2-3 days but the cough will still be there for about a week or so.

He clanged to me the whole day.

Just the Two of Us for the next 2 Weeks

So it will be just the two of us for the next 2 weeks.

Today went very well. Caden being sick he was clingy to me all the time and listen to whatever I told him to. There was no screaming, no running around and no tantrum.

At one point, I was thinking if he is behaving like this all the time, will I be worried or the other way round? Hehe…

We went to the doctor after we drop Suster from the airport. And doctor said Caden has mild viral infection with no fever. [They consider fever to be more than 38 degree] Then he said he is hungry and wanted to eat at Din Tai Fung. Before we headed back home, I took him to see the big Christmas tree in front of Paragon.

He then nap for 2 whole hours and woke up at 4pm.

Today, Caden’s body is super hot! He was like a heater sending out heat most of the time, although when I checked his temperature, it was not even 38 degree.

He has dry cough as well, but not too bad. It doesn’t bother him much yet and I hope it won’t bother him at all as he will be much better tomorrow *finger crossed*

He ate his dinner at home quite well considering that he was not feeling well.

Caden drank 600ml of his formula before slept and slept within 10 minutes at 8pm,

Cancelling our Trip to Jakarta

Here we were at the Changi airport, sending Suster off to Jakarta.

The original plan was that we are going off together and Caden and I are going to stay in Jakarta until Saturday. But then we have to modify it.

Last night when he goes to bed, I didn’t suspect anything. Yes he was coughing a few times but I thought it was nothing. Then at about 2am when I move to sleep with him, I felt him a little hot. I thought I was having fever, but when I checked, it was only 37.8 degree. But his whole body was ‘burning.’

Then he was ok after a while but the ‘burning’ came back again at around 5am.

I thought it is not wise to travel with this condition. I think the weather in Jakarta will make him worst and I am not familiar the doctors. I heard the good ones, you’ll need to wait for quite a long time and not to mention the traffic jam on the way and coming back from it.

I am just worry about Suster in the Jakarta airport. There are always these people who don’t have anything to do to ‘take’ all this women who work abroad and questions them and eventually ask them to pay a certain amount of money.

But I have no choice then to send her home by herself and give her my Jakarta’s number to keep in contact with me.

And yes she was caught by those people, but after some arguments from me and Suster, she was allowed to go out.

*shaking head* Indonesia has a very weird way of doing things.

First Violin Lesson

It was supposed to be the class for the parents only, but not sure why the kids were ‘invited’ as well.

The teacher was talking the whole time and Caden was so not patient to open his violin case and play it.

When it was time for him to play, he was very excited, too excited actually.

I hope when the ‘real’ class starts in 2 weeks, he will really listen and follow the instructions.

Power Rangers

We went to Takashimaya and accidentally, there was Power Rangers Meet & Greet Session going on.

Of course Caden was curiously wanted to know about it.

So we stopped and watched.

There was no show, just a meet and greet session, with photo taking afterwards.

Caden told me he wanted to take a picture with them and so I let him be.

He never seen them before anywhere, but he wasn’t afraid of them at all.

On the way to the car, Caden asked me to buy a mask just like what the Power Rangers have.

Caden's Favorite Christmas Tree along Orchard Road

We checked out the Christmas Tree at Ion Orchard right after dinner on Saturday. It was very different from other Christmas Trees because it was a huge tree with 4 doors around it.

This is Caden's favorite tree now. Every time he sees another Christmas Tree, he will ask us if he could go inside that tree. And if we said, “We can’t”, he will ask again and again “Whhhhyyyyy????”

We should definitely come back and visit the huge Christmas Tree at Ion Orchard again.

Note: The second picture is what the inside of the tree look like. Nice, huh?

The We Are One Project

We Are One" is a CSR project by MediaCorp, CapitaLand and LEGO Singapore. It was initiated by MediaCorp to raise at least one million dollars for charity.

I thought it is a creative way of asking people to donate. And I can’t help to drop by to the booth and be a part of it.

We were in Ion for the first time together with Caden to find something to eat. We found this Taiwanese restaurant which has a very good bubble milk tea. ^_^ Well, the food wasn’t that bad as well.

I put $6 in the box and Caden was given 3 green Lego bricks to be put on a Lego palate. Then later we were given a thank you note from them.

In the picture, Caden was showing off his thank you note to show that he has done his part.

Early Christmas at School

Next week is the last week of school and on Friday itself, there will be tons of things going on as it would be the last day of some older kids (including Caden) to attend Play-Nursery at Julia Gabriel.

So this Friday, we were celebrating early Christmas at school, complete with Christmas decoration and Santa and his presents (which originally from the mommies).

I am always amazed to see how Caden has grown this past year. Last November, when we had this similar party back at Play-Club, Caden were so scared of the Santa (who actually was his own teacher) and refused to even get his present.

This year, he was so excited to see Santa as he knew that he would get a present from him. And I think being a big boy who is brave and strong (that’s what he used to call himself), help to nurture him to not be scared of nice Santa Clause.

When Santa came at the door, he was running towards him and almost hugged him. He also received his present himself and willingly sat on Santa’s lap for pictures.

He was so elated to see his Ben-10 presents (of course…what else should I buy him these days??? Everything has to involve Ben-10). I bought him a snack box and a Ben-10 figurine that look just like him today.

Yes, he dressed up like Ben-10 with Ben-10 original t-shirt and green pants.

Things that I do to tire him out

It’s really hard to make Caden nap these days, especially when I really try hard not to carry him to sleep anymore. Sometimes I just feel that I should just carry him because it is so much easier to make him nap that way, which make him less cranky in the late afternoon.

But he is so big already, 18kg and more than 1 meter tall. I think it is not wise to carry him anymore; not good for my back and for him as well. He will have to try to sleep by himself sooner or later.

It is common for human to sleep easier in a car. Same thing happen with Caden; it takes much little effort to make him sleep in the car easily.

He has gym class at 6pm today. I know he won’t make it without any nap. And since I don’t want to carry him anymore, I decided to tire him out by going to the Zoo right after his school.

We spent about 2 hours there, running around here and there. Caden wanted to take the boat ride, but apparently it was under construction.

We always ate at KFC when we visit the Zoo, and this time, I thought we try the Ah-Meng Restaurant. To my surprise, the laksa was pretty good, although Suster said the nasi lemak was tasteless.

And I was so happy to see him slept in the car!!!

The Little Gym: Funny Bugs

Two months ago, teacher Pearl told me to move Caden to the Funny Bugs class. It is the first independent class at The Little Gym and teacher Pearl said Caden is ready for it (mentally and physically). Hehe….

So we did a try out and he actually liking it! He didn’t look for me at all and the teacher said, he actually did quite well in class compared when I was in with him.

About 3 weeks ago, his good friend, Cranston, joins us in the same class. Caden now look forward for his gym class with Cranston. The two of them always ‘fight’ a lot, but they look of each other all the time, too.

The teachers said, they couldn’t separate the two of them in class, cos’ one of them will run towards each other.

I can see from the windows that they always together doing all the stunts that the teachers told them too.

I wonder how close they will be when they are older.

My Name is Ben-10 Caden!

Somewhere, somehow, he picked up this character that I don’t want him to know now. Ben-10 is everything to him now. Everyday he has to wear Ben-10 t-shirt, watch and shoes or else we would be having a difficult time chasing him to change his clothes.

This attachment to this character is unbelievable. He liked Bob-The-Builder, Thomas, and Diego before, but nothing like this one.

A few times he talked in his sleep about Ben-10. He cried when we arrived at music school without his Ben-10 watch -- maybe he feel ‘lost’ without it.

When his Ben-10 t-shirt was not dried yet, he insisted that he will be topless until it had dried. *sigh*

I don’t let him watch the series yet. I don’t even let him have the books for now. Although I know he would be very happy, I decided not to bring him to the Ben-10 show in December.

For Caden, Ben-10 is a big boy who does all good things just like a big boy should do. Such as:

  • Ben-10 listens to Ben-10’s mommy and daddy
  • Ben-10 never cried and wailing
  • Ben-10 drink orange juiceBen-10 is good to his friends

Initially, I didn't allow him to use Ben-10 tees outside home. But I always see him crying everytime we have to change him. If we are going out twice that day, that means he will cry at least twice. I can also see that he is very proud when he is using his Ben-10 shirts and watch.

I know once I allow him to use it outside, there will be no more other t-shirts for him. I know when I allow him to buy Ben-10 shoes; there will be no other shoes for him.

But I thought, since Ben-10 actually shaping him to be a good big boy, I let him wear all those in the end.

And YES, say good bye to other shoes and t-shirts.

A few days ago, I went to OG Chinatown to search for Ben-10 t-shirts. I went to Robinson, Takashimaya, Isetan, etc to look for Ben-10 shirts, but his size has all run out.

Those that they have were only the one with the aliens on it, with no Ben-10 picture at all. Caden only familiar with Ben-10, so I have to find t-shirts with Ben-10 on it, or else he will go mad or he may insist that we shouldn’t wash his tees. Hehe….

When there are 2 Ben-10(s)

Ben-10 Cranston was here for a visit. While mommies were learning how to cook, the Ben-10s and daddies went down for a swim.

It was a very interesting afternoon. Caden had such a great time with his friends (Lucius and Shayna were here too!). But he was so happy to see his best buddy, Cranston, who share the same interest in Ben-10.

The Meg and Mog Show

Jenann asked us if we wanted to go to The Meg and Mog show on Halloween day. I wasn’t sure if Caden will like the show as he was not familiar with the casts, but decided to go anyway.

One thing I observes with Caden, he would enjoy the show so much more if he is familiar with the casts, or even better, with the story line.

So I search for Meg and Mog book for him everywhere. After I found it, I was told that the school's library has many different stories of Meg and Mog. Silly me!! I should have checked the school library first.

At the show day, Caden was very happy. He sat down quietly (well not really cos’ he asked a few questions and his voice was kind of loud) and watched the show eagerly.

And thenn….. What is more interesting then meeting the casts themselves after the show? Caden was showing his Ben-10 watch to every casts. Yes, he is a Superman with a Ben-10 watch. ^_^

6 Years Wedding Anniversary

Paul didn’t say anything at all this morning. I texted him in the afternoon and asked if he forgot something today. He replied a few hours later and said “No, I am not… do you want to have dinner today?”

Haha…lucky he replied that, if not, I would be furious.

We ‘celebrate’ it with Caden at Sun with Moon restaurant at Whellock Place.

I didn’t know what to explain to Caden when he asked me why we have to go out for dinner tonight. So I told him, today is mommy’s and daddy’s birthday. After I said that, he was singing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song again and again.

Then I knew that we should have the cake, or else this little guy will ask questions about it.

I bought a slice of cake from Cedele next door and ask for two candles (one of mommy and one for daddy).

A friend asked me if it has been really that long. I have thought about it a few times today and counted the years again and again; just in case I counted it wrongly.

After the 2nd friend asked me again about that 6 years marriage, I then checked my marriage certificate. I thought I was wrong, too! Time really flies…. I don’t feel like I got marriage yesterday though, but I don’t feel like it has been 6 years as well.

I am just glad for the past years that we’ve been together and especially for Caden!!! There is nothing I can ask for more.

Mommy's Old Friend

It has been more than 5 years since mommy met auntie Octav. And since she is here for a few days, we decided to meet at Wisma Atria.

Nice to know you auntie Octav and hope to see you again some other time.

Baby African Elephant

We came to the elephant show a few times already but I never let Caden up to the elephant house as the stairs up is too steep and dangerous.

But today when he asked me if he can go up, I let him be, considering he is much older now.

It was interesting up there. There were baby elephant foot print (it was huge!) and baby elephant figurine, too.

The place is quite small but cozy and educational. We surely will come by here again.

Superman and Supergirl

Caden and Sasya woke up late today. Mommies decided to bring them to Vivo City by MRT!

We’ve bought a similar outfit for them in the Universal Studio at Gold Coast. Caden loved his Superman outfit. He kept saying that he is a Superman again and again.

I’ve told Caden that he has to walk all the way if he wants to take the train. Anyway, he is a Superman (he is super excited to be a Superman), and Superman is strong!! He can walk all the way to Vivo City without being carried.

Anyway, we arrived safe and sound at Vivo City at 5pm and Caden walked away there by himself. We went to Toys R Us for a while and then to Sushi Tei for dinner.

On the home, Caden said that he is tired. Sasya was then being carried by Ii Ani and Caden used the stroller.

On the way to the MRT, we passed by taxi stand. I asked Caden if he wanted to take the train home or the taxi. He thought for a little while and said, “Taxi!”

I was actually glad that he said “Taxi” because I myself was tired!!!

The Nicest Egg in The World

We came to watch “The Nicest Egg in The World” at the Esplanade with some friends.

Caden used to cry because he hated the dark environment inside the theaters and he was scared of the casts.

But now, he is likes shows; he can’t take away his eyes from those casts and enjoys every bit of them very much.

He is now willing to get so close with the casts and even play with them physically.

Today, Caden was chosen to be one of the very few kids who were dancing with the casts for a few minutes before the show ends. He was shyly standing beside one of the cast and almost didn’t do anything.

Well, at least he didn’t cry and he is willing to go to the stage with a stranger.
.
PS: And yes, I forgot to bring my SLR today! :-(

Books Books Books

He fell in love with books from the very early age. H asked to be read with many books everyday.

I like him to be exposed with lots of books. I am sure books will give him lots of knowledge in a lot of things.

Caden likes Bible’s stories the most. But for the past few weeks, he is into Diego (Dora’s cousin) now. It’s so hard to find Diego books here because he is not so popular in Singapore. And to find Diego’s DVD is impossible.

Luckily a friend is coming from the US and willing to bring home some of the DVDs for us.

Thank you auntie, Lisa. ^_^

As He Aged 1 More Year...

I know this feed-by-himself behavior happens very rarely, as a 3 years old boy, Caden had shown us that he is more independent compare to a few months ago.

*sigh* I wish he could stop growing for a while…

Bringing him out without any helper is now possible for me. I could tell him to stay near my sight or even ask him to help me out finding something. He listens to instructions quite a bit recently.

Caden is a very helpful, cheerful and always excited for everything.

I like this 3 years old phase. They are still as cute, but not as independent as the older ones.

Food update, he is still a very picky eater. But I should give him credit by wanting to try out most of the food that we offer him, although he doesn’t like them most of the time.

His loves for milk in still unchanged. He drinks about 1500ml per day and loves all kinds of milk.

3 Years Old

Caden is 3 years old today and since I knew that we will only be back at 10pm last night from Gold Coast, we decided that there will not be any big party this year.

Today I let him rest at home, too.

But tomorrow, we will have a small party at school.

I can't imagine that he is 3 already. He is so big now. He was only weighing 2.9kg not long a go...and now he is as tall as my waist and weighing 17kg and very talkative.

I am hoping he won't grow too fasttt.... I hope he will always be mommy's little boy [*yeah...dream on...*]

Fish Feeding

Quite boring for us as the fish was small and not colorful. Caden enjoyed himself as usual...

Great Beach... I Must Say...

Looking forward to more adventures today.

Sunset Tour to a Nearby Island

There was not much we can do today as we arrived here in Hayman at 2.30pm.

Our personal butler, John, recommend us to go for a sunset tour to nearby island. Basically, we what we’ll do is to see and enjoy the sunset.

We were brought there by a small boat. Took us only about 15 minutes to reach the tiny island and we waited!!

The wind was strong and it was a little bit chilly for us, though there were some old ladies (about my grandma’s age), just done with swimming and were only using their swimsuits and towels.

There was nothing there. We were dropped off with food, towels and 2 big umbrellas.

We were too bored and too cold to wait for the sunset. In the end, we left the island before the sunset. ^_^

Caden was happily playing with us and the sand. He didn’t seem to be bothered by the strong wind. I regretted to not bring his jacket along. I hope he didn’t caught a flu.

Starving: Late Lunch at 3pm

Hayman Island

We went to Hayman Island by a seaplane that we have chattered a while ago. It was the first experience for all of us to be on a seaplane.
.
When I explained to Caden that this plane can land on water, he was a little bit confused and kept asking me, "why mommy? why could this plane land on water??"
.
When in the end the plane landed on the water by the Hayman Island, Caden couldn't stop looking outside and shouted, "we have landed on water, mommy!!"

The island from above was beautiful. Let's just hope it is really a beautiful island to stay in.

Brisbane Airport

Here we were at Brisbane airport again, but this time we were in the domestic terminal.

Virgin Blue will take us to the Hamilton Island, and from there, we will take our chartered plane to the Hayman Island.

Caden is behaving quite well this 2 days, though he cling much more like a glue to me. I hope he will continue be this way until the end of the trip.

Hyatt Downtown Brisbane

While waiting for our taxi to bring us back to the airport.

Holiday...!!!

Off we go to the airport this morning. Our flight is at 9.30am. So we have to leave home at about 7.30am.

The check-in process and the flight to Brisbane, Australia was great. Most importantly, Sasya and Caden were good in the plane.

We are going to stay at Hyatt in downtown Brisbane for a night and will have to catch the next flight to Hamilton Island...and then another flight to Hayman Island.

Plenty of rest tonight and so much fun tomorrow. ^_^

H.O.T Sentosa

Suddenly, Caden told me that he wanted to go to the beach. So we went to Sentosa today, though Vivo City.

We took the monorail and play at the beach side for quite a while.

It was a super hot day, but I think Caden enjoyed it very much.

I spent more of my time under the shade, while daddy accompanied Caden to play.

Quite a number of my friends told me that I am so much darker compare to a few months ago. *oh no…*
